Drace ~ Available RP Verses
{out of dalmasca} Here are some specific verses for Drace so that muns of muses from Final Fantasy games, not from FF games, from the MCU, from other fandoms, etc. can get an idea of how they might interact with her. If you have any questions or would like to plot in a specific verse, let me know! =)
{ for the empire } ᵐᵃⁱⁿ ᵛᵉʳˢᵉ
This is canon Drace in Ivalice, likely in Archadia, but location will vary according to what part of the Final Fantasy XII timeline you want your muse to be in. This verse is for those who have Final Fantasy muses or want to place their muse inside the FFXII world. Your character would be native to some part of Ivalice or the same world at least, and would then encounter Drace. Plotting may be necessary to discuss the timeline and scenario that you may want. Your muse can get involved in the canon plot of FFXII if you like or we can discuss a unique plot for our muses to follow.
{ the darker corners of ivalice } ᵐᵃⁱⁿ ᵛᵉʳˢᵉ ⁻ ᵈᵃʳᵏ ᵉᵈⁱᵗⁱᵒⁿ
(I am going to write up this verse in detail at some point because there are a lot of headcanons throughout the timeline of the game and the twins’ lives that need to be discussed. When I do, I will place a link to it here. Until then, if you want to know more or have questions, you can always ask me!) This verse contains everything the main verse does, but then also includes a number of headcanons regarding twins Basch and Gabranth/Noah, their mother, the Archadian empress, and Larsa Solidor that venture into very tragic and potentially triggering topics, including child abuse/endangerment, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, violent murder, and mental illness. So any threads with Drace that are in this verse or have this tag take those events into account. Most of this will likely not be described in detail, but it exists in the fleshed-out portions of Noahs life that we didn’t get to see, some of which Drace was present for or helped him through in various ways. The canon game was chopped up and had many plot holes and time gaps, so this verse fills in, fleshes out, adds headcanons, explains holes and gaps, and generally smooths out the plot to make much more sense, but with some darker themes in an attempt to make a more harshly realistic story for Basch and Noah, and therefore also for other characters that supported them, like Drace.
{ young judgement } ᵃʳᶜʰᵃᵈⁱᵃⁿ ᵛᵉʳˢᵉ
This verse for Drace would incorporate events leading to the canon events of FFXII. It includes her as a younger Judge Magister, her developing relationship with Noah, helping him through the abuse at the hands of the Archadian Empress (part of the dark!Ivalice verse above), and anything else that might have occurred before the events of the main game.
{ imperial avenger } ᵐᶜᵘ ᵛᵉʳˢᵉ
In this verse, Drace has been frozen in stasis by some sort of magical mishap involving either ancient magic (from an Esper or spell) or a nethicite explosion whilst going through the canon events of FFXII. She was found (likely by SHIELD or SWORD or some similar agency) in a modern day setting in the MCU, and much like Steve Rogers, she is someone out of time. This verse can also extend to Marvel in general, if you wanted Drace to join SHIELD, etc. as a specialized agent. This verse may also include elements of the MCU's multiverse, in that she could potentially be from a different point in the FFXII canon timeline than other muses from her same canon material, e.g. taken from before her death when other muses already know her to have been executed.
{ welcome to archadia } ᵐᵘˡᵗⁱᵛᵉʳˢᵉ ᶜʳᵒˢˢᵒᵛᵉʳ
This verse is essentially Drace's main verse but incorporating the MCU concept of a multiverse. It can work for any muse not native to FFXII, not just MCU muses. Basically, the concept is that there are many different tangential timelines and verses in which there are different versions of characters, and sometimes… things get a little screwy and characters can – either intentionally or through some magical mishap – end up in other timelines/verses/worlds. So in this verse, your muse would end up in some part of Ivalice and encounter Drace. Again, this may require some plotting to figure out how and why your muse came to Ivalice and whether you want your muse to be thrown into the plot of FFXII or have their own unique plot.
{ explain yourself at once } ᵐᵘˡᵗⁱᵛᵉʳˢᵉ ᶜʳᵒˢˢᵒᵛᵉʳ
This verse uses the same concept of a multiverse from the MCU, but does not follow MCU canon or contain characters or events from that world. Basically, Drace ends up in your muse’s world, most likely through some magical mishap that occurred in her own, and would be at the mercy of modern times until your muse lends her aid.
{ who could have forseen...? } ᶠᵒʳᵗʳᵉˢˢ ᵛᵉʳˢᵉ
This verse incorporates the scrapped storyboards, setting, and timeline of Fortress, the canceled FFXII sequel. Any events that take place just before, during, or after the events of this would-be game are including in this verse. You can read more about Fortress and its story here. Obviously, for Drace, this verse would mean that she was never executed and has survived the canon events of FFXII until those of Fortress.

Alex Drace-Francis is like, „I'm a-gonna come here, write a book on one of Romania's staple foods, then discuss it in perfect Romanian with a TV show host, occasionally looking like a deranged serial killer but actually being a totally legit cultural historian in a reversal of the „but he seemed like such a nice guy!” trope."

Trouble of a Demon Prince (Rest In A Demon’s Embrace II) | Tinalynge | ★★
Hello! yes, it's housekeeping Drace. A few things here: One: I do not recommend this book, nor this series really. There are better ones out there for you to spend your time reading. If this sort of thing catches your interest, I can recommend other things that you might like more. Two: This book has it's PROBLEMS. but that doesn't mean that you can't enjoy it for what it is or I'm shaming you for doing so. There are good things here.
Three: I find merit in discussing this book and having brain worms about this despite the first two things. Synopsis: It's really hard to articulate the synopsis of this book. There is a plot, loosely, if you want to call it that. I'll generously designate that there is general direction the author wanted to take. How that direction relates to her A & B stories, character development, tension, and theme is... questionable. So I am skipping the synopsis section, for my sanity. My Thoughts: I've debated long and hard (like?? 5 months now) on how I wanted to write this review. It was not simple to condense down my complicated feelings into a blurb. So I'll cut the fluff. I feel like a good 90% of this story was unnecessary to the story as a whole. You could cut the majority of it and the work would not suffer. This is originally a novel that was published chapter by chapter, and the "book" is a collection of chapters that revolve around one major plot arc. Reading through the chapters is like a time capsule; You can sense the author's intentions stretch and warp like overwrought seams as she gets a better feel for her characters and her story. This work is a good candidate for me to explore creative writing and editing critiquing techniques that I don't normally get to use.
#taglinemode#tinalynge#Troubles of A Demon Prince#eh I don't think it's worth tagging anything else#hey drace you finally published this bad boy#how are we feeling

Zargabaath was many things, but oblivious was not one of them. Reserved? Yes, and to a fault, he was willing to admit. He noticed more than he spoke, and it was not lost upon him the change in Gabranth's behavior.
Perhaps it could have been brushed aside as him grieving or simply recovering. After all, he had heard of the Judge's ordeal against Vayne, and knew that sort of beating was not easy to walk away from. And, although Gabranth may not show it, Zargabaath could only imagine the grief he was dealing with with Drace's death on his hands. Her death sat heavy with his conscious, although he was not her chosen executioner. He had not stood by her - had not supported her. She had been right, he had not been, and he knew he would need to live with that for the rest of his life.
It was fine, there was much he lived with he was not proud of, after all.
Yet, despite the easy means of brushing aside Gabranth's change in behavior, Zargabaath still felt uneasy. He seemed... hesitant at times, as if questioning himself before bearing down with the full authority and gruffness everyone knew. To him, it seemed like an act, and he knew he could not stand aside and watch from afar until he felt safe to move forward. Not with how the little Lord Larsa depended on Gabranth so, and not when Archadia was so close to unraveling at her seams. They had only reached peace - he would not allow it to slip through their fingers so easily.
"Judge Gabranth," Zargabaath called as he approached - his tone easy. Respectful. Quiet, as it always had been. "If you have the time, perhaps we could have a brief talk in my office? 'Tis a matter that can wait, if you have more pressing matters to attend to." He knew well how Gabranth would handle such requests for his presence - a postured response. A dismissal, depending on whether or not it was urgent. This was not, nor would he pretend it to be, but he was not going to ignore the issue at hand forever. Not this time.
With his request accepted, Zargabaath turned and walked with the other Judge in silence to his office. Although his helm hid his face, his expression remained crafted and unreadable, and he watched Gabranth out of the corner of his eye. Waiting for any sign that supported his suspicion. Was his walk the same? Did he hold himself the way he used to? It mattered not - he knew better than to ignore his heart, and his heart told him something was wrong.
Once they reached his office, he shut the door behind them, and moved past Gabranth in silence still. He removed his helm and set it down upon his desk, but it was not a display of trust. He was still a Judge Magister, regardless of his regrets, and he would not allow an imposter to threaten Archadia's fragile security. "Be at ease, Judge Gabranth." Zargabaath finally turned his head to look at him - his expression calm and posture relaxed. "I only wish to discuss Archadia's progress. It has been far too long since we have seen such peace."
He moved away from his desk and to a bookshelf beside it - pulling down an ornate glass decanter filled with bourbon, and two glasses to go with it. "You must be proud of Lord Larsa, no?" he continued as he poured them each a glass, and returned to his desk before he leaned against it, and offered one of the drinks to the other Judge. "I wish he needn't handle such responsibility so young, but he is already proving himself a fine Emperor."
(( @lightinxthedark from Zargabaath to Basch! And he's not even remotely going to react like they had him do in fortress because. No <3))
{ @lightinxthedark | Omg, yes! This is the interaction I didn't know I needed but now I'm so here for it! And yeeeeah... honestly I took from Fortress whatever I wanted and left the rest behind because it has serious problems, heh. We just won't talk about the parts of it that don't work. XD We'll write our own versions. That's what rp is for. XD }
With little Lord Larsa's very diligent instruction on Noah's habits, mannerisms, and duties, and his own researching of Archadian life, Basch was doing his absolute best to pull all of this off. The ruse was difficult and precarious but vital. The stability of the Archadian Empire, Larsa's safety, and perhaps the peace of all of Ivalice depended upon Noah still being alive and carrying on as before.
The daily stress was eating Basch alive, quite literally. He'd been seen by sages for what would no doubt become ulcers if he did not tend to his stomach's distress, and he was averaging less than three hours of sleep each night. And then there was the grief. Basch felt torn apart, hollow, and so deeply wounded at the loss of his twin, and he had no one to turn to. He simply must bear it alone.
At least Larsa was there to assist him as much as possible in pulling off the ruse. Basch hated to depend on a thirteen year-old boy, but... firstly, he needed to. Secondly, he had no other choice. And thirdly, Larsa was a very well-spoken, well-educated, intelligent, precocious, and clever boy. Of all children he could possibly be forced to depend upon, Larsa was a strong support indeed. He knew Noah best, at least more recently. Basch had known him well when they were youths, and apparently Judge Drace had known him on a more personal level, but Drace was dead... and so was Landis. All Basch had to go on was Larsa's interpretation of Noah. It would have to do.
Basch could not a afford a single mistake. He had to drop "aye" and "nay" from his vocabulary, for Noah had lost them years ago in an attempt to sound different, to separate himself from the past. Ironically, though, he'd retained his Landisian accent... to a point. It was now a hybrid of Landisian and Archadian, and something Basch could barely pull off. Basch's own accent had slipped completely into Dalmascan over the years. Balthier's voice emulator, fitted into Noah's helm, helped immensely. However... there were some days when Basch was forced to remove it...
Unfortunately, today would be one of those days. His heart began to beat faster the moment he heard Noah's name called. Well, his Judge's name, anyway. Which... had actually been their mother's maiden surname. It caused Basch's chest to tighten in an instant, for he knew he was being placed on the spot for yet another tense and difficult interaction.
Basch stopped and slowly turned to face the one who'd called him. he noted the shape of the helm. Judge Zargabaath, he reminded himself. He knew each and every Judge Magister by their helm, for he'd studied such things as a knight, in case he met any of them on the battlefield. It was how he'd identified Drace at Nalbina that fateful day. Now he knew he was dealing with Zargabaath, one of the older and more moderate Judges, but no less solid in his patriotism for the Empire.
"Gabranth hated demands on his time, especially when he was en route to somewhere important. It would frustrate him to have to stop and delay, and more importantly, he would see it as an almost absolute necessity to delay his accoster in turn. Doing so asserts important social authority, and it disabuses others of the notion that he will simply drop his own schedule to acquiesce to their spontaneous demands..."
Larsa's words ran through Basch's mind the moment Zargabaath requested his time to talk. Playing these games, making these posturing moves... it was something so anathema to Basch. He thrived on honesty and kindness, especially with comrades. Here, though, everyone wore some sort of social mask. It was as exhausting for him as it was demoralizing. Nevertheless, he had no choice but to play along, for Noah would have.
"If it can wait, then it ought to. I've much to do at present," Basch replied dismissively. He felt himself die a little inside with each of these callous responses, but kept reminding himself that this was for the good of all of Ivalice and in defense of a young boy's life. However, he really did not want to dismiss Zargabaath. If there was anything important at all in what he had to say, Basch knew he really should hear the man out. And so after a moment, he added, "... but so long as it is brief."
They walked in silence to Zargabaath's office, with Basch hoping he could remember the way there in this maze of halls and offices the Judges called home. Perhaps there was a slight hesitation at one turn, but it was quickly corrected. Basch was wholly unaware that his gait was a bit more guarded than Noah's, less confident or strong and yet somehow simultaneously more tense. And really, it would have gone unnoticed to all but those who'd known his brother very well or who had interacted with him on a regular basis.
Once they were enclosed within the man's office, Basch's heart found no respite. Be at ease, was code for... it would be polite to remove your helm here, he'd learned. He didn't... have to. But it would be rude not to. Given the tight quarters and how well Zargabaath had likely known Noah, Basch decided not to remove it... until... Nay... His heart beat even faster at the sight of the decanter. Zargabaath expected Noah to share a drink with him. This presented two problems: one, that he would have to remove his helm to drink, and two, that Basch did not drink. He did not hold his liquor well, nor was he accustomed to very strong spirits. But again, he had no choice.
With a deep breath drawn and released in an attempt to calm himself, Basch slowly removed his helm, tucking it under his arm. Now he would have to emulate Noah's accent on his own and while inebriated. This... really could not be any worse of a scenario to be placed in. Hearing Zargabaath's question regarding Larsa, Basch was careful not to reach to quickly or eagerly for the drink he was being offered.
"Very often, Gabranth answered questions with another, or with some circuitous response that would leave room for doubt and interpretation by the other. He did not like to tip his hand, whether it be with regard to matters of extreme importance, or something trivial..."
"Lord Larsa grows ever more the exceptional young man with each passing day. His Former Excellency Gramis would no doubt have been proud. Young though he may be, he is capable beyond his years." Basch responded, finally accepting the drink. Bourbon, Larsa had noted, was Noah's spirit of choice, and so Basch knew he could not in any way appear to have difficulty with it. Bracing himself for the strong taste and stinging vapors to follow, he took a modest sip and managed to swallow it without incident. "I doubt that is what you brought me here to discuss," he took the liberty of saying. It was true, Zargabaath had said it was not anything urgent, but... surely he would not have wasted Noah's time with chit-chat about Larsa...

So Apparently I'm on an Alexis Hall Binge
So you’re going to get some observations. So I’m going to start with a generalization. Every romance novel ever written usually follows some sort of generic plot outline. You can literally take any romance novel in history and use the same outline. What I really have observed with Alexis Hall is he has a very specific and unique way of handling his [Why We Won’t Work Until You Fix This] (aka the first third of his book) and I absolutely adore it.
In all of his novels so far the crux of the problem is introduces as one of the main characters wronging the other. ex: In Boyfriend Materials Luc breaks up with Oliver after having an emotional breakdown. In Something Fabulous, Valentine has a confrontation with Bonny about being queer and having unrealistic wishes, and in A Lady for A Duke, Gracewood feels betrayed by Viola because Viola went to go live her truth after an opportunity to do so.
These are all varying degrees of either the protagonist having issues or is being somewhat selfish.
What I love here is the precedent. The NEXT scene is from the perspective of the wrongdoer. And They do have themselves a serious consideration over their actions. Also, there’s usually no self-flagellation or trying to justify themselves to themselves. It’s very much I am going to admit the wrong that I did and acknowledge it. ex: Valentine realizes he’s being cruel, Luc comes to realize that Oliver and his past experiences are different and that he needs to apologize in order to help start to move on from his trauma, and Gracewood realizes Viola has been through too much and that he needs to get over himself because he had no right to demand what he did of Viola knowing what she’s been through.
The Next STEP IS ALWAYS a sincere apology. There is no waffling about with the main character trying to defend themselves or offer a insincere apology to “make the problem go away.” They ALWAYS make the decision that love is worth more than the sum of their flaws and their hurt.
Usually after apologized to, the wronged party always ACCEPTS the apology too. There’s no lording it over the main character. Forgive but not forget. It’s so emotionally healthy and nontoxic I forget that people can be like that.
There is no relationship UNTIL the apology happens. The Conflict always moves the plot forward onto the next stage where it should be. And there’s no regressions or picking at old wounds. It’s Very Nice and refreshing to see Novels written like this. I’ve struggled through so many romance novels where the author thinks it’s inventive for the characters to pick at old wound over and over. Where the Act 2 is basically the same issue as Act 1 but reworked in a slightly newer fashion. Alexis’ is always very much a new issue with a new section of the plot coming to shine. It’s probably why I like his stuff so much. Also Tumblr Post Editor Old and New Hates this post klsdfkjdsf

Progress Positive Friday
Hello! How are ya'll doing today? This is my first progress positive Friday since I got back. I skipped last week because I was still figuring out my schedule and how I wanted to approach certain things moving forward. So Now that I'm at least an inch closer in another direction with that, I'm restarting. This one is kinda long so I'll stick it under a read more.
Where's the August Wrapped? So I have decided I won't be making an August Wrapped. Unfortunately, I have sat down and reviewed a lot of the content I made for August, looked at what all I finished reading, and other stuff... and I just feel like there isn't much to celebrate, and what there is was overshadowed by my cancer scare at the end of the month. So. I couldn't decide on a good way to write a wrap to conclude August in a way that I liked. so I'm just going to mash it all into progress positivity. Which is why it's going to be longer than normal. So thank-you to W1 and W2 Drace for working extensively on fixing the broken tag links in the navigation, consolidating and working on the tag list so that we can remember them more when doing posts, and making self-guides and templates so that you can just make things together in a cohesive manner. Consistency is so difficult for me and this makes my life so much easier and more organized. September Goals
Continue to work on Nostalgia November! We have made a lot of progress already, but we need to keep going!
Maybe take some time to revisit some titles? I need to start integrating storygraph and goodreads into this stuff too at some point. So maybe pay a few of my favorites a visit?? could be fun and a new excuse to take pictures with halloween decs.
just0nemorepage's traveling book project
One thing that I got in on in August was just0nemorepage's travelling book project. My own copy of my book should be arriving today, and I am very excited to start chronicling my adventures through Alexis Hall's The Affair of the Mysterious Letter!
with the book club, I am going to be waiting until the end to share additions and edits to the books that I make. I want to show them off all together. You may (or may not depending on how the others feel about them) see what I've done on the others that are part of this project. : ) I am so stoked and ready to go.
Dracereads turns one year old!
Officially, Dracereads has turned 1 this month! That's such a thrilling announcement! Unofficially though, I only started doing posts for this blog in December.
I let my anxiety and perfectionism get the better of me, and I really want you all to know that it was dumb. I've had a blast making mistakes and figuring this out. I don't know why I was so afraid to make the leap after I've made it you know?
I put out a post on Wednesday saying thank-you to everyone who puts up with me, and I want to say thank-you again here too. Why? Because I have been told I am stupidly (and overly) sincere about small stuff.
I am very happy because I have loved every second of it and this blog is exactly what I wanted it to be. My only real goal was to make a blog chronicling my adventures in books, maybe make a whole bunch of bad jokes along the way, and occasionally have good discussions with some awesome people. The past year has been a really fun dive into reading again. The habit of picking up a book and tossing back a couple of chapters to relax is a very good coping mechanism... and I am honestly glad I've gotten it worked back into my life. it has also helped me pick up a few other healthier and creative-ended habits that I can hop to and from as necessary. It's all leading to good things, I swear! Anyway, thank-you as always for reading until the end. I think saying it at the end is a bit of a cliche because like. youtubers and whatnot do it too?? but I like. get why. People really care about the things that they make, and it's always such a fucking amazing feeling whenever someone gives a little bit of their day to enjoy or appreciate in their own way the thing you've just made. Whether it's fanfiction, blog posts, crappy edits. Knowing someone cared enough to actually put the time in and read it is awesome.
--Drace Out.

This is a side blog, so follows will be from @fallxnprxnce. Mun, blog, and rules information can be accessed from this promo post and below in this pinned post. This blog is also a multimuse, so there is a main muse and several supporting muses that I write here. See below for links to information about all the muses written on this blog.
I have a weekly schedule (see below) to divide activity for all my currently active RP blogs (see below). Outside of a few exceptions if I get inspiration for something, I will only be posting for blogs on their scheduled days. You can send me asks, memes, and reply to threads on off days, but I may wait to respond until that blog is scheduled. Note: I'm a night owl, so most of my writing is done between 9PM and 5AM (EST).
{{ FAIR WARNING: This blog is heavily canon-divergent and headcanon-based!! Many of these headcanons are of a dark, violent, adult, medical, or psychological nature in order to flesh out the canon plot of the game and to provide more detailed, harshly realistic backgrounds, character development, and overall stories for the muses. Be advised that many of them cover triggering topics. If that’s not your cup of tea, or if you prefer a more faithful-to-canon FFXII portrayal and experience, this blog is probably not for you. I do my best to tag all major triggers on my thread replies and heacanon posts. }}
INFORMATION ABOUT THE MAIN MUSE: Basch will be canon unless otherwise stated, however there are a number of details about his background or details that I add in headcanons (particularly in the Dark!Ivalice AU that I am currently writing up, see below) that may be different or not part of his original canon material. Basch’s main “About” post is here, and his rp verses are here.
ADDITIONAL CANON MUSES: I do write other muses on this blog as well (Ashelia, Noah/Gabranth, and Drace), however, as I am somewhat less confident in my interpretation of them, they are considered private muses (mutuals only, but possibly by request if we discuss it beforehand). I started with Basch and added others along the way, so how I distinguish between “side” and “alternate” muses was just my own system at the time that I am now too lazy to change the tags for, haha. Basch is my main muse, Ashe and Noah are written almost with as much frequency as he is, and Drace is written a bit less often.
Side Muse: Ashelia B’Nargin Dalmasca - Her “About” post is here, and my rp verses for her are here.
Alternate Muse: Noah fon Ronsenburg, a.k.a. Judge Magister Gabranth - His “About” post is here, and my rp verses for him are here.
Alternate Muse: Judge Magister Drace - She is just getting started, so bear with me while I develop her. Her “About” post is here, and my rp verses for her are here.
OC MUSES: I have three OC muses on this blog, but they are all very new and still being developed.
OC Muse: Munoh - An Independent “Heretic” Occuria. Their about post is here.
OC Muse: Caelen B’Nargin Dalmasca - The sixth son of King Raminas and Ashe’s brother. His “About” post is here, and my rp verses for him are here.
OC Muse: Soryn Vedrai - A Knight of Dalamasca who becomes an Archadian Judge Magister. His “About” post is here, and my rp verses for him are here.
OC Muse: Eswynn “Wynna” Heios Nabradia - The fourth child and only daughter of the King of Nabradia, older sister to Rasler. Her “About” post is here, and my rp verses for her are here.
Muse Directory: If you would like to read more detailed information about all of the muses on this blog, including meta topics, headcanons, AUs, and in-depth ask answers, please visit this directory post. =)
Dark!Ivalice AU: I’ve been writing up this AU for a while and it just keeps growing, heh, but basically, this is the “adult” version of the FFXII storyline and backgrounds for certain characters, specifically the ones I write here. This AU includes a more realistic, often harsher, and more traumatic take on the backgrounds, lives, and relationships of a number of FFXII characters. The most notable headcanons for this AU are various traumatic experiences had by Basch, Ashe, and Noah, a considerable amount of detail on their backgrounds and early childhood, a development of Noah and Drace’s relationship, a much darker take on Vossler’s actions/motivations with regard to Ashe, and the fact that Noah is actually Larsa’s biological father. Once I finish fully writing up this AU, I will post it and link to it here. I have explained some aspects of it in the muses’ “About” pages. I prefer to always write in this AU, as it is my personal canon, however, I realize it is not for everybody. With new partners, I will always ask first what your preferences are so I know whether to include details of this AU or not, but feel free to ask me about it if you have any questions!
